Peyton Moore was a very special member of the Mount Pleasant Track Club family. He loved running, and was the 9-10 boys state champion for javelin. However, beyond being a great athlete, he had an indomitable spirit, and loved to encourage others. Sadly, Peyton passed away in 2013 at the age of nine. The Mount Pleasant Track Club is very blessed by the fact that Peyton’s family has chosen to honor his memory by naming one person per season athlete of the year. This is an extremely prestigious award, in that it recognizes not just excellent athletic performance, but the person who best exemplifies the characteristics of a team leader (good sportsmanship, helping and encouraging others, and dedication to the team)
